Transcription factor II B (TFIIB) is a general transcription factor that is involved in the formation of the RNA polymerase II preinitiation complex (PIC) and aids in stimulating transcription initiation. TFIIB is localised to the nucleus and provides a platform for PIC formation by binding and stabilising the DNA-TBP (TATA-binding protein) complex and by recruiting RNA polymerase II and other transcription factors. It is encoded by the TFIIB gene, and is homologous to archaeal transcription factor B and analogous to bacterial sigma factors.

Western blot analysis of TFIIB on different lysates with Rabbit anti-TFIIB antibody (HA722213) at 1/1,000 dilution.
Lane 1: HepG2 cell lysate Lane 2: HeLa cell lysate Lane 3: Jurkat cell lysate Lane 4: K-562 cell lysate Lane 5: C6 cell lysate Lane 6: RAW264.7 cell lysate Lane 7: PC-12 cell lysate

Exposure time: 3 minutes; ECL: K1801;
4-20% SDS-PAGE gel.
Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% NFDM/TBST for 1 hour at room temperature. The primary antibody (HA722213) at 1/1,000 dilution was used in 5% NFDM/TBST at 4℃ overnight. Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG - HRP Secondary Antibody (HA1001) at 1/50,000 dilution was used for 1 hour at room temperature.
