Target
Function
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the platelet-derived growth factor/vascular endothelial growth factor (PDGF/VEGF) family. The encoded protein promotes angiogenesis and endothelial cell growth, and can also affect the permeability of blood vessels. The proprotein is further cleaved into a fully processed form that can bind and activate VEGFR-2 and VEGFR-3 receptors. Growth factor active in angiogenesis, and endothelial cell growth, stimulating their proliferation and migration and also has effects on the permeability of blood vessels. May function in angiogenesis of the venous and lymphatic vascular systems during embryogenesis, and also in the maintenance of differentiated lymphatic endothelium in adults. A form of primary lymphedema, a disease characterized by swelling of body parts due to developmental anomalies and functional defects of the lymphatic system. Patients with lymphedema may suffer from recurrent local infections. LMPHM4 is an autosomal dominant form with onset at birth or in early childhood. Affected individuals manifest lymphedema of lower limbs with prominent veins, and impaired lymphatic uptake and drainage. Additional features are nail dysplasia, skin hyperkeratosis and papillomatosis.

Sandwich ELISA analysis of Human VEGFC matched pair antibodies
Elisa assay was performed by coating wells of a 96-well plate with 50 µl per well of capture antibody (HA723241) diluted in carbonate/bicarbonate buffer, at a concentration of 5 µg/mL overnight at 4℃. Wells of the plate were washed, blocked with 150 µl 0.05% tween-20 1% BSA blocking buffer, and incubated with serial diluted Recombinant Human VEGFC protein (HA210869) starting from 8,000 pg/ml to 0 pg/ml and detect antibody (HA723242, Biotin, 0.2 µg/ml) for 1 hour at 30℃ with shaking. Then the plate was washed and incubated with 50 µl per well of SA-HRP for 0.5 hour at 30℃ with shaking. Detection was performed using an Ultra TMB Substrate for 10 minutes at room temperature in the dark. The reaction was stopped with sulfuric acid and absorbances were read on a spectrophotometer at 450 nm. -
Interpolated concentrations of native VEGF-C in human serum and mouse serum samples.
The concentrations of VEGF-C were measured in duplicates, interpolated from the VEGF-C standard curve and corrected for sample dilution. Undiluted samples are human serum 100% and mouse serum 100%. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean VEGF-C concentration was determined to be 236.5 pg/ml in human serum and 115.4 pg/ml in mouse serum. -
Interpolated concentrations of spiked VEGF-C in human cell culture media samples.
The concentrations of VEGF-C were measured in duplicate, interpolated from the VEGF-C standard curves and corrected for sample dilution. Undiluted samples are as follows: cell culture media 50%, The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2).
