Target
Function
Transthyretin (TTR or TBPA) is a transport protein in the plasma and cerebrospinal fluid that transports the thyroid hormone thyroxine (T4) and retinol to the liver. This is how transthyretin gained its name: transports thyroxine and retinol. The liver secretes TTR into the blood, and the choroid plexus secretes TTR into the cerebrospinal fluid. TTR was originally called prealbumin (or thyroxine-binding prealbumin) because it migrated faster than albumin on electrophoresis gels. Prealbumin was felt to be a misleading name, it is not a synthetic precursor of albumin. The alternative name TTR was proposed by DeWitt Goodman in 1981. Human transthyretrin protein is encoded by the TTR gene, which is located on the long arm of chromosome 18, in cytogenetic band 18q12.1.

Wells of the plate were washed, blocked with 150 µl 0.05% tween-20 1% BSA blocking buffer, and incubated with serial diluted Recombinant Human Prealbumin protein (<a href="/products/HA211085" style="font-weight: bold;text-decoration: underline;">HA211085</a>) starting from 200,000 pg/ml to 0 pg/ml and detect antibody (<a href="/products/HA725260" style="font-weight: bold;text-decoration: underline;">HA725260</a>, HRP, 0.2 µg/ml) for 1 hour at 30℃ with shaking. Detection was performed using an Ultra TMB Substrate for 12 minutes at room temperature in the dark. Elisa assay was performed by coating wells of a 96-well plate with 50 µl per well of capture antibody (HA725259) diluted in carbonate/bicarbonate buffer, at a concentration of 2 µg/ml overnight at 4℃. Wells of the plate were washed, blocked with 150 µl 0.05% tween-20 1% BSA blocking buffer, and incubated with serial diluted Recombinant Human Prealbumin protein (HA211085) starting from 200,000 pg/ml to 0 pg/ml and detect antibody (HA725260, HRP, 0.2 µg/ml) for 1 hour at 30℃ with shaking. Detection was performed using an Ultra TMB Substrate for 12 minutes at room temperature in the dark. The reaction was stopped with sulfuric acid and absorbances were read on a spectrophotometer at 450 nm.
