Function
Prolactin (PRL), also known as lactotropin and mammotropin, is a protein best known for its role in enabling mammals to produce milk. It is influential in over 300 separate processes in various vertebrates, including humans. Prolactin is secreted from the pituitary gland in response to eating, mating, estrogen treatment, ovulation and nursing. It is secreted heavily in pulses in between these events. Prolactin plays an essential role in metabolism, regulation of the immune system and pancreatic development.

Western blot analysis of Prolactin / PRL on different lysates with Rabbit anti-Prolactin / PRL antibody (HA724010) at 1/100,000 dilution.
Lane 1: Mouse pituitary tissue lysate
Lane 2: Mouse kidney tissue lysate (negative)
Lane 3: Mouse heart tissue lysate (negative)
Lysates/proteins at 10 µg/Lane.
Predicted band size: 25 kDa
Observed band size: 23 kDa
Exposure time: 10 seconds; ECL: K1801;
4-20% SDS-PAGE gel.
Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% NFDM/TBST for 1 hour at room temperature. The primary antibody (HA724010) at 1/100,000 dilution was used in primary antibody dilution (K1803) at 4℃ overnight. Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG - HRP Secondary Antibody (HA1001) at 1/50,000 dilution was used for 1 hour at room temperature.
