Function
Melanoma-associated antigen D2 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the MAGED2 gene. This gene is a member of the MAGED gene family. While the MAGEA and MAGEB genes are silent in normal tissues with the exception of testis and placenta, the MAGED genes are expressed ubiquitously. The MAGED genes are clustered on chromosome Xp11. This gene is located in Xp11.2, a hot spot for X-linked mental retardation (XLMR). Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene, however, the full length nature of some variants has not been defined.

Western blot analysis of MAGED2 on different lysates with Rabbit anti-MAGED2 antibody (HA723759) at 1/1,000 dilution.
Lane 1: HEK-293 cell lysate
Lane 2: A431 cell lysate
Lane 3: A549 cell lysate
Lane 4: U-2 OS cell lysate
Lysates/proteins at 20 µg/Lane.
Predicted band size: 65 kDa
Observed band size: 72 kDa
Exposure time: 1 minute 18 seconds; ECL: K1802;
4-20% SDS-PAGE gel.
Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% NFDM/TBST for 1 hour at room temperature. The primary antibody (HA723759) at 1/1,000 dilution was used in 5% NFDM/TBST at 4℃ overnight. Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG - HRP Secondary Antibody (HA1001) at 1/50,000 dilution was used for 1 hour at room temperature.
